July 9 - July 13

Wednesday July 9 - was a day we will never forget. It started off with a scavengar hunt in the old city with a group of soldiers. It was an experiaence to interact with them and really get to know these brave men and woman who put thier lives on the line for us to live saftly throughout the world.  After lunch we were invited to eat lunch at the home of Aba and Pamela Clamen with the soldiers. During lunch the soldiers let us know how they felt about us showing our appreciation to them and we had a chance to express our feelings of gratitude and thanks to them. It was heart warming to see the the boys excitedly give the soldiers the gifts they had prepared for them.  One boy, Jo Jo Sutton was so excited to give to the soldiers that he pulled off his hydration pack from his back and handed it to the one of the soldiers.  After Shaya Chabot said birkat Hamazon out load for the soldiers we were then given a formal tour of the old city with a stop at the kotel for Mincha.  We ended off this perfect day with leagues and dinner.

Thursday July 10 - We were lucky to have the oppertunity to visit the tzadik vekadosh Rabbi Yakov Hillel.  He welcomed us in his yeshiva and spoke a few words of Torah for us. We then geard up for a strenuous trek on mountain bikes. Ralph Franco dazzeled us with his bike riding skills. All wiped out we sat down bedouin style to lunch and dancing. Congratulations to LEON HARAY for winning the dancing contest. after washing up and a short rest we then spent some time in Geula and Meah Shearim. The boys had a great day.

On Friday July 11 -  we went to a beach in Bat Yam. We were able to relax, play volley ball soccer and some frisbe. Hazak Ubaruch to thiose boys who came on time for shacharit and recieved refreshing ices at the beach for thier efforts.

Shabbat July 12 - was one of the best ever. We were honored to hear two stories from Rabbi Sinai. At the shabbat meal we heard an amazing Dvar Torah from ALBERTO SMEKE and Councelor Albert Snado.  The sing off we had that night was off the hook. The 9th and the 10th graders battled it out song for song to see who could sing better. We ended the night with a tie anticipating who will take the prize during the remaining meals. Congratulations to JAIME SABA for winning the first backgamon tornement for the season. We were honored to host Rabbi Harrold Sutton for seudah Shelishit where he spoke to us and made us aware how lucky and special we are that we are spendig out summer in Israel. Hazak Ubaruch to Victor Dabah for his Dvar Torah at seudah shelishet. For Arbit we crossed the street and prayed with Hacham Ovadia Yosef.  We ended our night with leagues and pizza.

Sunday July 13 - We started off with a drive to the port city Jaffa. We learnt about the importance of this port city and some stories that happened there. We shad a great time bargining in an old shuk (market) The boys enjoyed knoking down the price sometimes to a qourter of the original price. We then were dazzeled by the lights and sounds of the coke factory in Bnei Brak. We enjoyed the free refreshing drink we recieved at the end of the tour. We went to the Kotel to pray minha and then we headed to Ben Yehuda street for dinner.
