July 14 - July 20
I don't even know where to begin. This past week has been non stop action.
Monday July 14 - We went back in time on the TIME ELEVATOR. We learnt many interesting things about Jerusalems past. In order to keep with the theme of the day we then visited the Iria (city council). We were able to see a beautiful meeting room were all major policies for Jerusalem are made. We then personally met the deputy mayor of Jerusalem R' Attias. The Panaramic view of Jerusalem from his balcony was breath taking. After a delisious and nutritious lunch we traveled to the Bet Govrien caves and rappeled down the caverns. We ended our day with a delisious barbeque dinner at Gan Soccer.
Tuesday July 15 - started our trip up North. We stoped at the beautifull natural spring, Sachneh. The boys had a great time sitting in the water falls, jumping off small cliffs and just enjoying the water. We headed for iur Hotel and ate a delicious dinner at the Kinar Hotel. After a short rest period we had a night out in the city of Teveria.
Wednesday July 16 - had us hiking down the Arbel. The only way to describe this hike is to see the pictures. It was off the hook. We then stoped at Katzerin for lunch and then hiked Antina. The boys had a great time splashing in the water.
Thursday July 17 - was a day the boys will remember for the rest of thier lives. We started off building rafts on the Kinerret. We broke up into four groups. Each group received six empty barrels, bamboo, four pallets and meters and meters of string. Each group had to work together as a team to build a sturdy raft and then float on iot to a certin point in the kenneret and back and then take apart the raft. The first team to do this wins. It was a great compitition and all enjoyed it. We then went to a rope park were again we were broken into smaller groups and asked to to complete different challanges working together as a team. It was a great experiance. After lunch we all reapplied sun screan, Filled up with water, put on our hats and enjoyed a three hour kike down Nachal Zaki. We had a great time walking this river and swimming in the big pools.
Friday July 18 - was spent at the Canada Center. The boys were able to play basketball, go ice skating or swim in one of the two pools. many of the boys enjoyed on thier own the shooting range. After a full day there we headed back to Kibbutz Lavi were we spent Shabbat. The boys love Shabbat on The Kibbutz.
Sunday July 20 - Being a fast day we had a late wake up and checked out of the hotel at 11:00 AM. We traveled to Rosh Hanikra. We saw the grottos and a short film on how they came about. After a very long bus ride home we had sometime to unpack and get ready for Minha. The boys enjoyed breaking thier fasts on Calsounes, Kusebjiben, bourekas, pizza, salad etc........
